Magic Moments, 50's Rock 'n Roll Review
|
|
Bruce "Goose" Engle
|
A highly imaginative person, Bruce Engle has dreamed many things. Like performing for the crowds
at the 1986 World Expo in Vancouver, Canada; singing Gilbert and Sullivan operas; singing (and dancing)
in the rain on stage; competing and winning on a national level in public speaking; climbing to the
top of Mount Whitney to attend an impromptu concert of “Fiddler on the Roof”; learning to tap dance
from a student of Gregory Hines; singing with retired members of Chicago and The Doobie Brothers; getting married;
singing gospel music at church; mastering the art of home cooking; developing new recipes; owning his own business.
Funny the dreams that come true. Even more amazing are the ones that come true that were never dreamt.
Bruce never imagined himself in a fifties band, dusting off the saxophone not played since high school, and
the piano not played since the 5th grade. Nevertheless, it is with great joy that Bruce performs for the
audiences of the Magic Moments.
“Performing is hard work, but I love to see people start dancing and momentarily escape from life’s stress.
The Magic Moments are like the jukebox in the corner, adored by thousands, but not demanding attention, playing the
tunes that get people of interact with each other. It is about them, not us: that’s joy!”
Many things have influenced and changed Bruce over the years. Most notably: his faith in Jesus Christ.
With a new outlook on life—that “all things are possible…”—the world is now Bruce’s playground, all to be
pursued and enjoyed creatively for the benefit of others.
